Awesometastic

So last night, after my 9am-7pm work shift, I drove to Highpoint to meet Dan and some friends and go see The Avengers! Oh my god it was so awesome! :D I won't give away any spoilers... but I'll just say that Hulk and Iron Man were the best.

I have no idea what that icon of Iron Man is supposed to be doing...

Cosy time

Today was sooooo cold! It made me so happy :D I think the weather was at about 11 degrees all day, and it was a little windy and raining too.
Last night for dinner I tried something new - taco wraps, and I made them with Quorn mince. SO delicious!!

The mixture looks gross in the picture haha :D But it was so good! Dan ate his with nacho chips, and I had mine with wheat wraps. I'll definitely be making this again!

I spent most of today in class. Here's what I wore.

I'm loving the forest green and wine colours for winter :) Thought they'd go well with my gold little owl friend up there. I wore my big overcoat on top of this outfit because it was so cold outside! And as promised here's an absolutely retarded photo of me in my jacket...

I love it so much! When I'm not shrugging, the coat comes almost down to my knees. With that and some chunky socks inside big boots, I was nice and warm today :3
I spent some time in the library with a few friends before heading to class today. We did a little bit of assignment revision, a bit of looking at pictures of pretty Korean boys who look like girls, and a bit of general fuckery.

Winter feeling

Hi! It's been a few days, I know. I'll start with Saturday - I didn't have work, so I stayed home with Dan getting over my illness. I've been coughing constantly this past week! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night wheezing :/ But I feel like I'm getting better. I made some lovely food for lunch on Saturday, which I ate while doing my Linguistics homework ~

The Chinese characters in the first picture say "xiao long bao", which is a type of dumpling with meat and a bit of soup inside. They are SO delicious! :3 And "edamame" are Japanese - they're boiled soybean pods with a little bit of salt.

The Linguistics assignment I was writing has been damn hard. But I feel proud of myself for getting through it! :)

Can't you see I'm overjoyed!?

On Saturday night I was feeling lazy and had been craving pancakes all day, SO I made them for dinner. xD Or "brinner", as they'd say in How I Met Your Mother, which is a hybrid of breakfast and dinner. Dan thought it was genius... If only I'd been able to give him some bacon with his pancakes! Haha.

They were soooooooooo good :D Looking at the picture makes me want more! Hahah

I spent the rest of the night watching Teen Mom which is a show I'm addicted to at the moment! And then I went to work on Sunday feeling much better...

Everything I wear to work is from there - Cotton On. I have on some black boots, shiny leggings, a leopard print skirt, a sheer black top and a blazer on in these pictures. I kept my makeup fairly natural and one of the girls at work said it looked really nice, so I was happy :3

As for today, I've been to uni for class, then Dan and I went into town to get our rent money and some groceries. I got to wear my big puffy coat outside because the weather finally got cold :D :D But I don't have any pictures of it yet. I have a feeling I'll wear it again tomorrow so I'll take pictures of it then. This is what I wore today ~

No idea why I'm making such a sleazy face in this one! Hahaha oh god. It's like I'm trying to lure you into my van. With candy.

Aaaaaand this is my current state of being. I'm enjoying a nice hot coffee, and am about to play some TERA with Dan. I'll do a separate entry on that game because we've both been playing it for the past few days and I love it! Tonight I'm making some tacos with Quorn mince for dinner :D Byebye!

Sick!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in the past few days, I have been really sick and have basically just been hiding out in the dark, coughing and whimpering pathetically. I had a shift at work this morning but had to call in sick, which sucks because it means I missed out on about a hundred bucks. But I can't be too hard on myself because it's important to just take a break and heal when I'm sick. I haven't left the house at all today, but I did manage to eat three balanced meals which I think is pretty good!

You can't really tell in the photos, but this was on Wednesday and I was nooooot feeling well. I had a 2pm-7pm shift and barely got through it. By the time I got home, Dan had pizza in the oven for me, and I basically just passed the fuck out.

I'm thinking about maybe doing a video or two, but I'm really not sure what the subject matter should be. I've been watching so many Jenna Marbles videos over the past couple of days, and she's just awesome and I'm a little jealous. I'd want to actually contribute something to the internet and make people laugh instead of just doing a boring video about my life.

I don't really have anything else interesting to add - I'll be resting some more tomorrow, and then Sunday I have work and then Dan and I will be going to my parents' house for dinner. Hopefully I can get my hair cut soon. I'd love to dye it partially purple... We'll see. I might attempt my own tragic bleach job at home. And document the results...

Linguistics bores me out of my skull

Hello! Today I went to uni. I sat through 3 hours of Linguistics as always on Tuesdays... it was so horribly boring, the lecturer is really nice but she mumbles through the whole class and is barely audible. I'm just planning on making some chicken katsu curry for dinner tonight (which is my specialty!) and relaxing, so here are a few photos from today :)

Weather

I hate this time of year! We had a few days of cold weather (although it was only 8-9 degrees at the least) a week or two ago, and now this week is back up into the mid-20s. For the whole week. I hate weather like this because it's not hot and it's not cold, the weather is just cloudy and gross, and you feel too hot to wear a jacket or tights. I looooove winter clothes and I have a heap in my wardrobe that I can't wear yet :( I want to wear huge jackets with big comfy socks and boots! According to the weather forecast, Sunday will be the only day that the temperature stays below 20... I want to fast-forward to winter. Here in Melbourne it gets pretty cold. Overnight the temperature can be 0 or below, and during the day I think the coldest I have ever experienced is 3 or 4 degrees. Not as cold as some countries, like Sweden or Finland... I would love it sooooo much if it snowed here! But sadly if I want to see snow, I have to travel to the mountains a few hours away :(

Freaky Eaters

I've spent my evening watching this show....

I can't believe there are people out there who have never eaten vegetables or a salad, and just eat ONE thing every single day! I would feel so disgusting and sick if I was made to eat only french fries, or only cheeseburgers, for even one day, let alone several years... There is so much variety in food and it's so sad that some people choose to ignore healthy options and keep their minds closed to change.

Yummy sweet potato recipe!

I made some delicious sweet potato for dinner last night and decided to experiment with a few ingredients and it turned out so well! (Just as a note, I am using an asian style sweet potato - in Japanese, it's called 薩摩芋 ('satsumaimo').

I didn't do much today, just went to the supermarket with Dan to get some veggies and some Vitamin C. My throat hurts :(

Ugh!

I woke up this morning and felt dizzy and exhausted... I had class today but I had to go back to bed :( All my housemates have had the flu recently and it looks like I finally got it too :( Dammit! I was so proud of being the only one who didn't get sick! Later I'm going to go to the supermarket and pick up some Vitamin C.

So Dan came back from Supanova today with a big present for me!!

It's a Keyblade!! This is the weapon used in the game Kingdom Hearts, which is a game I have loved for many years. It's pretty big and can be used like an actual sword, and it is made of proper metal which makes it a bit heavy. Dan bought this for me as a late birthday present which was so amazing of him :D I love you honeypie! Thankyou so much! I'm thinking of taking some proper photos with it tomorrow :)

Friday/Saturday

So as I posted about before, I went to uni and studied on Friday. I was tired on Friday night, and Dan had a friend over, so I made some fried rice for myself (I used Chinese sausage, mushroom and spring onions YUMMMM) and watched South Park :D

I went to bed fairly early because I had work 9am-7pm the next day, boohoo :( It's always torture getting up at 6:30am. It's going to be even worse as the weather gets colder, because we have no heating in our house! I'll have to wear a big coat to bed haha :D

I always like to make the effort and try to look nice for work. My leggings are shiny but you can't see it in the photo :(

I'm making a weird face but you can see the earrings I wore - I love these, I bought them on my birthday this year and I get lots of compliments about them. Teal/green/blue + feathers = win.

After my loooooong day of work on Saturday, me and the other girls were exhausted and took our time cleaning up the store and moaning about how tired we were... Lucky we didn't get any crazy customers though. In retail, you never know when someone is going to randomly start yelling at you about things you can't help, like how busy the store is / how long they have to wait to get into a change room / not being able to get a discount on something they want / not being able to exchange something without a receipt, etc. I had a girl scream and swear at me over a $5 pair of shoes last week. FUN TIMES!
So I headed into the city (I work just outside the main city area) after my shift, and met Dan :D We had dinner at Yoyogi restaurant, some sushi and char siu ramen, and then headed to my friend Vera's birthday drinks. I couldn't drink any alcohol because I was driving us home, so I just had a Red Bull. We stayed for a little while and then headed home where I passed out almost immediately!

Now it is Sunday, and Dan has gone to Supanova (comic/anime convention) for the day, and I am just relaxing. I might make some lunch soon and look over my uni homework. また！

Youtube faves

Allow me to express how much I love Natalie Tran and her videos.

Now, that's probably the video that everyone's seen. It's got 34.5 million views on Youtube. I think it was the first video of hers that I ever saw and I've been subscribed ever since. I love how she imitates a typical makeup tutorial girl, and is deadpan about drawing texta abs on herself. "I mean, if he doesn't like you after he sees this, then you're just gonna have to go home and put some more makeup on."

This is one of my favourites. "Well, uh... you put the towel on the table... that means I get to take you from behind."
She talks about stuff that pretty much everyone can relate to, or stuff that everyone thinks about but doesn't admit to, and always puts a hilarious spin on it. People like her make me proud to be an Aussie... I think we have a unique sense of humour.

Another favourite of mine is Jenna Marbles who I'm sure everyone's heard of!

Again, this is a video I'm sure everyone has seen - 39 million views on Youtube. Aaaand it was the first one of hers I'd ever seen, too. This girl is fucking hilarious. I think I'll just let her videos speak for themselves.

I love her because she just says whatever the fuck she feels like. She's open about everything and doesn't care what anyone thinks. And her dogs are friggin' adorable.

Aaaand, one last Youtube sensation that I love is Xiaxue. She's a Singaporean blogger who is just funny and awesome. She's sort of a contradiction, in the best way, because she dresses up so prettily and always wears lovely makeup and does her hair nicely, but she also swears, laughs loudly and asks some seriously awkward questions.

Another reason I love her is because she's had various plastic surgery and is totally open about it and happy to answer peoples' questions. She stands by everything she does and is totally shameless. She's lesser known on Youtube than Natalie Tran and Jenna Marbles but her Guide To Life videos are hilarious and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching every single one.

I have lots more Youtube suggestions but I think this post is getting a bit long so I'll save them for another time :)

"Study" day

I spent a few hours in the uni library today doing an assignment with two friends, although we got a bit sidetracked and ended up having a "which would you rather" contest and laughing at the questions until we started crying. I'd like to share a few of the scenarios, but there's a possibility that my mum or dad may read this blog someday, and all of the "which would you rather"s were truly disgusting. They're just more fun that way. ;)

Me this morning after I'd done my makeup - you don't want to see the before shot! At the moment my eyebrows are half missing. Sometimes I'm tempted to just wax them both off, but somehow I think I'd regret it...

I wore my Emperor shirt and "weird" glasses today. Looking at these photos, I'm so sick of my hair! It's just nothing at the moment, so boring. I want to get it cut, and maybe get some semblance of a fringe.

I made my lunch and brought it with me to uni :3 I would never have done this a few years ago, I always bought food if I went out, because I thought bringing stuff from home was embarrassing. Now I love doing it - making a sandwich the night before and putting in a few other things like fruit or crackers. It saves SO much money :/

Tomorrow I'll be bringing leftover fried rice to work with me :)

I met Dan at the supermarket when I was coming back from uni and we stocked up on chewing gum (chewing it stops me from snacking on things like chocolate which is starting to become an addictive problem, haha!) and other things. I bought some more Quorn fillets because they're so amazing! Lucky for me they're on special at the moment.
Then Dan and I came home and he made some instant pho (Vietnamese noodle) and went on DC Universe as usual.

And I assaulted him with my camera. Heh heh heh ;D Helloooo squishy!

Where have I been?

Haven't posted in a while! A few things have changed, including that me and my boyfriend finally moved in together! We now live with three other friends in a big house, and we've been here for a bit over 2 months now. It's been awesome so far! We all get along well and we get plenty of privacy. The lease is until January, so we'll see what happens after that :)

Easter has come and gone, and it brought a fuckton of chocolate with it as always.

 My boyfriend being retarded with the KILO of chocolate my mum bought us for Easter! Every time I go and visit mum and dad now, they have something new for me, or they make me a big delicious dinner... Love my parents!

We also had an Easter Bunny theme at work which meant all the girls (and one boy) wore bunny ears.

I haven't been going out much recently as I've been enjoying staying at home and cooking/watching movies/playing games with Dan, but I did go out a few weeks ago for karaoke with a couple of friends. I got up at 6:30am that day for work and managed to stay out until 3am the next morning! I was having so much fun singing that I didn't realize the time, haha.
